Central Oklahoma summers regularly reach triple digits. Schedule an AC check in spring, before the first heat wave, when local HVAC companies still have open appointments. Replace your filter and clear debris away from the outdoor unit.
Get ahead on the lawn
Most metro lawns are warm-season grass like Bermuda. Pre-emergent weed control is usually applied in late winter or early spring. Once it heats up, water early in the morning, water deeply, and raise your mowing height.
Seal up against pests
Warm weather brings out scorpions, spiders, ants and termites across central Oklahoma. Seal gaps around doors and windows, move woodpiles away from the house, and consider a spring inspection from a licensed pest control company.
